Celebrating 40 wonderful years of Equinox

With over 36,000 SME sized businesses in the UK, there is a less than 5% chance that they will make it to 40 years of operating, so we’re proud to be one of the few that has grown continually for the last 40 years. We don’t put this achievement down to luck, but the hard work, skill and dedication of our staff throughout the years that have made this happen.

With 95% of new businesses failing within the first two years of operating, we couldn’t write about making it to our 40^th year without acknowledging our original founders, Carmine Criscione and Jim Reilly, who embarked on this journey back in 1983. They started the ball rolling during the hardest times a business can endure, investing every penny they had with their ambition of creating something different in the exhibition industry.

After both working in the exhibitions industry, they had a mission; creating a company that had all the capabilities under one roof, being able to provide everything a client needs for their experience and therefore offering complete control for the client.

Our purpose-built HQ in Leeds is where the magic still happens; our dedicated design studio sits alongside our production facilities and is all supported by our project management and logistics teams.

Throughout the 40 years Equinox has kept on striving to be early adopters of new technology and disciplines; from 3D CAD in the early 90’s to large format print in the 2000’s to the recent investments of large-scale AV tech and content production in-house and our current investments into renewable energy across our worldwide production.

So… the original mission hasn’t stopped, and it will never be complete as we are always looking to the future and investing in new technologies and processes, so we can serve our client’s needs, not relying on others.
