Munich Re Specialty and HSB needed a shared exhibition space that gave both brands clear visibility, premium hospitality and the right setting for high-value client engagement.
Challenge
The BIBA Conference is one of the key dates in the UK insurance calendar, bringing together brokers, insurers, partners and senior decision makers from across the sector.
For Munich Re Specialty and HSB, the challenge was to bring two connected brands into one premium space without creating a split experience. The stand needed to give each brand its own presence, while still feeling like one holistic environment.
It also had to perform on several levels. From across the hall, it needed the height, movement and confidence to attract attention. Up close, it needed to feel calm, credible and comfortable enough for client meetings, informal catch ups and hospitality throughout the show.
With future BIBA activity already in mind, the brief also called for a more sustainable delivery model, with reusable assets that could protect long term value and reduce waste beyond the first show.
Delivery
Equinox designed, produced and delivered an 8m x 8m exhibition stand for Munich Re Specialty and HSB at Manchester Central, creating a clean, premium environment with clear zones for brand storytelling, hospitality and meetings.
The stand combined height, light and digital content to create strong visibility across the hall. A circular overhead LED banner gave both brands presence above the show floor, while a 4m x 2m LED backwall created a central digital focal point. Additional touchpoints, including screen content and a front-facing touchscreen, helped keep the stand active without relying heavily on printed graphics.
The layout was planned around how people actually use a stand during a busy conference. A central coffee bar created a natural welcome point, supported by semi-private meeting tables, dedicated booths, lounge seating and a concealed storeroom to keep the space organised, open and client ready.

Sustainability was built into the approach from the start. The stand was designed for reuse, with bespoke structural components catalogued and stored for future BIBA activity. Modular construction helped reduce unnecessary waste, LED content reduced the need for printed graphics, and production from Equinox’s northern facility helped keep transport movements efficient.
Impact
The finished stand gave Munich Re Specialty and HSB a confident shared presence at one of the insurance sector’s most important events.
It gave both brands visibility without making the space feel crowded. The digital features added movement and authority. The coffee bar gave visitors a natural reason to step in. The meeting areas gave teams the right mix of open hospitality and more focused discussion space.
For the client, the value extended beyond the two live show days. By designing the stand as a reusable asset, Equinox helped create a more efficient route into future BIBA events, reducing the need to start again from scratch and supporting a more responsible approach to event delivery.
