A contemporary showroom crafted inside London’s railway arches, blending industrial character with refined kitchen design.

Challenge

Life Kitchens approached us to build a showroom that felt nothing like a standard retail kitchen space. Located between CP Hart showrooms beneath Waterloo’s railway arches, the site already carried a strong industrial character. The challenge was to create a concept that honoured the exposed brickwork and raw architecture while giving Life Kitchens a distinctive identity from the moment customers walked through the door.

What We Delivered

We delivered a full showroom fit-out that blended industrial texture with sophisticated contemporary detailing. The exposed brickwork of the arches was kept visible, becoming a defining feature of the interior. Around this, we built a series of kitchen environments that felt premium, modern and strategically placed within the space. The result was a seamless fusion of character and artistry that aligned with the ambitions of a fifth-generation business launching a new brand within its group.

We worked with Life Kitchens to ensure every zone expressed the right personality. Clean lines and contemporary finishes helped kitchen displays work with the natural layout of the arches rather than against them. The finished showroom had a modern cool that set it apart from typical kitchen retail environments, giving visitors a place where they could genuinely experience the Life Kitchens ethos.

The design went on to earn the 2019 Kitchen Showroom of the Year award from BKU.

Impact

The completed showroom gave Life Kicthens a standout presence in a competitive South London retail cluster. Customers responded to the blend of industrial architecture and premium finishes, and the new environment helped establish the brand as a serious, design-led competitor in the market. The industry’s recognition through BKU’s Showroom of the Year award reconfirmed the success of the project.
